ANARGYROS TOUBEKIS


 

Anargyros Toumbekis completed his undergraduate studies at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (DPESS-NKUA). He completed postgraduate studies at Loughborough University in the UK and a PhD degree at the Democritus University of Thrace. He is an Associate Professor at DPESS-NKUA, a member of the Dean's Office and the Postgraduate Coordinating Committee in the "Physical Education and Sports" Master's Program at DPESS-NKUA. He has been the director of the Water Athletics Sector and coordinator of the DPESS Internal Evaluation Group. His research interests focus on physiological responses and adaptations to swimming training. He has supervised master's and doctoral theses at DPESS-NKUA and other University Institutions in Greece and abroad. More than 80 of his studies have been published in foreign language and Greek journals with an average impact factor of 1.7. In the Scopus database there are 855 references to his work with a factor h=17. He is a founding member of the Hellenic Society of Biochemistry and Exercise Physiology, and member of the Board of Directors for five terms as well as president of the Society in the period 2018-2020. In the period 2015 - 2019 he was a member of the council at the National Anti-Doping Council (NADC).
