Manolis Adamakis is a graduate of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science (TEFAA) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA), has been awarded a master's degree in Physical Education and Sports Pedagogy and a Ph.D. in Physical Education and Physical Activity from the same University. In the past, he has worked as a Physical Education teacher in public and private schools and institutions, as a Lecturer at the University College Cork (Ireland) and as a research associate at the University of Luxembourg, while since 2022 he has been an Assistant Professor at TEFAA-EKPA teaching the subject of Research Methods in Physical Education at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has also worked with ethnic minority groups and populations (e.g., Roma people and refugees/migrants). During his research activities and his duties as a supervisor of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, he has conducted numerous research projects, the majority of which have been published in international scientific journals. His research interests include school Physical Education and physical activity of children and adolescents, teacher education and professional training of Physical Education teachers, the use of new technologies in physical activity and sport, and a variety of methodological issues in sport and physical activity (e.g., validity and reliability of measurement instruments). Finally, he is the Greek assistant national delegate in FIEPS (Fédération Internationale d´Education Physique et Sportive), member of the Leadership AIESEP Strategic Committee (International Association for Physical Education in Higher Education), has been awarded the FIEPS Europe Thulin Award 2013 for the best young scholar in the field of Physical Education, and is a member of various editorial and reviewer boards prestigious scientific journals
