MASTERS'S THESIS

The completion of a Master's Thesis (MT), according to the current study regulations of the MSc program in "Biology of Exercise", is a fundamental requirement for obtaining a Master's Degree (MSc) by the program's students. Out of the total of 120 credits required for the MSc degree, thirty (30) credits are awarded through the completion of the MT. These credits derive from the sum of the credits corresponding to the Design and Execution of Master's Thesis (BA 600 = 16 ECTS) and the Support of Master's Thesis (BA 601 = 16 ECTS). The completion of the MT is undertaken by the students of the program who, in addition to fulfilling other prerequisites (as specified in the relevant regulations), are in the fourth (4th) semester of studies. The selection of the topic and the design of the research are the responsibility and initiative of the supervising professor, who comes from the academic staff of the Sports Medicine and Biology of Exercise Section, taking into account the specialization chosen by the student and the relevance of the potential supervisor's research interests. Each Master's student is required to publicly present their research proposal before starting the research process and to defend their MT (also publicly) before a three-member examining committee, consisting of the supervisor and two additional members appointed by the coordinating committee of the MSc program.
